In the realm of sports, numerous children have followed in their parents’ footsteps, and basketball is no exception. There are quite a few sons and daughters of former players who have made it to the NBA and WNBA. Another thing that they will have to bear is the eternal comparison that will haunt them with their parents, especially if they were stars. In the most prominent case in recent years, that of LeBron James’ sons, it seems that Bronny and Bryce James are coping well with that pressure.
“I am the proud father of three children – two girls aged 11 and 8, and a young son who is five years old. My oldest daughter takes after her grandma and some of the women in my life who play volleyball, as she is a talented volleyball player. Meanwhile, my middle daughter is a dancer and the artistic one of the family, so I already have my hands full with two talented children. As for my five-year-old son, we will have to wait and see what he wants to be. He seems to be more of an athlete, but I’m not sure if he will pursue basketball, golf, baseball, or something else entirely.” However, Canon Curry has at least 14 more years before he is draft-eligible, so it will be a long wait to see if he has what it takes to follow in his father’s footsteps. The fact that Steph and his brother Seth followed in the footsteps of their father, former player Dell Curry, means that Canon Curry could end up perpetuating the family tradition in the NBA in 18 years or so.
